DALQUAVIS WARD listens without emotion to his public protector CHARLES GLYNN at his sentencing in Racine, Wisconsin of WARD who shot and killed off-duty Racine law enforcement officer John Hetland in June 2019 in Racine, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. When asked if he had anything to state, he preserved his innocence, and asked for “an early Christmas present, to be released from prison.” Hetland was dining at Teezer's Bar and Grill when WARD tried to rob the restaurant. Hetland was shot when he tried to separate the robbery. WARD was founded guilty of 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Armed Robbery, and a felon possessing a firearm.
